Stohr |
Spin Top Contest Director
Official Spin Top Judge |

I first started yo-ing in Elementary School in Cincinnati OH about 1950. During High School and College it was not cool, so I only yo'ed occasionally.
The 30 years since College include: a year of semi-pro clowning; 26 years of Navy and Naval Reserves including Command of an Aviation Squadron, and Reserve retirement with the rank of Captain; and 21 years as a Defense contractor, with positions of increasing responsibility including election to corporate officer. Volunteer activities included: Lay Leader of the YMCA Indian Guides; coach and referee for soccer; youth groups and choirs at church; and periodic clowning; plus as my wife says "just being a BIG KID".
I got back into yo-ing about 1989. The newsletter, YO-YO Times, led me to a local school with a yo-yo club (Yo-Cobras). In the Spring of 1997 I quit my day job to make a full time career of being a professional yo-yo demonstrator. I now do schools, libraries, and events in PA, NJ, DE, MD, DC, VA, & WV.
During the summer of 1997 I placed 6th of 21 in my division in the World competition at Pittsburgh PA and 4th of 26 in my division in the National competition at Chico CA. The following year I became a judge of the top level contests and have judged every year at US National, World, & International contests. I have also organized, MC'ed, judged many local and regional contests. |
