A few updates before the video.

1. The room block at the Rosen Plaza hotel closes at 5pm on July 10th. That is Eastern Standard time (GMT-5). Be warned there is a lot going on in the area, and it may be hard to get rooms elsewhere if the Rosen sells out. Also remember, you won't be charged for the room until right before the event and you can cancel the room with no penalty.

2. The next price increase for registering to attend the World Yo-Yo Contest is on June 30th. Register before then to save on admission.

Just some quick updates.
 
1. Freestyle Yo-Yo Rules (or most of them) are now posted at http://www.worldyoyocontest.com Expect some fine tweaks to these rules over the next few weeks.
 
2. Prices for registration will go up. The 15th is the last day to register at the current prices. Save money and register now. You register for the contest at www.WorldYoYoContest.com
 
3. Hotel rooms are almost gone at the Rosen, if you want a room there, make your reservations now. Remember they don't charge until shortly before worlds, and you can cancel your reservations.

9. I just got word that the Mod room will have a 3D printer in it this year. Yes the WYYC is going for replicator technology.

1. Rules for AP are up, and we want to announce cash prizes for the Artistic Performance Division.

2. The rules for Sports String Tricks and Sport Looping Tricks as well as the Diabolo rules have been posted.
 
 
 
3. A bit of bad news. The Rosen Plaza Hotel was the last hotel on the strip that did not charge for parking. Apparently people from other hotels were clogging their lot to avoid their own hotels parking fees. Because of this they are now charging a daily parking fee, the fee is regularly $13.00, but if you are staying in the Rosen Plaza Hotel parking will be $5.00/day if you have registered under the worlds room block.
 
 
 
4. There are still rooms left in the Rosen. Remember you are not charged until a few days before the event, and you can cancel your reservation, so book your room now to make sure you have a room in the hotel for the event.
 
 
 
5. We still need Volunteers. Please contact us if you can help.
 
 
 
6.  We need sports ladder judges, please also contact us. We have two open slots. We feed you if you are a judge. :) Breakfast and lunch.
 
 
 
7. A favor folks. I know that many of you are of drinking age, but we ask that alcohol is kept outside the hall. Last year late on Saturday night some folks left bottles all around the hall. The hotel pointed out that the insurance that we have does not cover drinking in the hall. It will increase the costs of worlds, and the price of admission if we have to get that kind of insurance. If you are legal, we are not saying don't drink in the hotel, just not in the hall, and please clean up after yourselves. The garbage can is not that far away. The attendees of the WYYC have been very good at preventing under age drinking, and we do appreciate that, but it is silly to have to raise prices on everyone when you can just go out by the pool or something. Thank you. 
 
 
8. Mod Contest Rules will be posted soon, so will Top and Freestyle Rules.
 
9. If you have a national seed, please contact us. We are requiring that we know about seeds by July 15th if you want to use your seed.
 
10. If you need a letter of invitation or help with a visa, please contact us. We are here to give you these letters and to work from this side to help with your meeting at the consulate.

If you've not been paying attention, we've gotten registration up late this year. Sometimes I hate computers and what an upgrade can do to ones data.
 
Well Reigstraion may be up late compared to last year, but as of now it is live.
 
What does this delay mean for you?
 
Well not a lot. We're doing the same system of raising prices to attend, but instead of doing every month or so, we're doing about every two weeks. We're starting at roughly the same point we did last year. Prices for a three day pass have gone up about $2.00 for the three days to cover increased costs. All other prices are the same, just the deadlines have changed. So go to http://www.worldyoyocontest.com and register before the 15th of June to get the biggest discount you can get.
 
We just got word that ford for the hot dog spin and grill at Lucky's house (Thursday Night) will be provided by Yomega. I want to thank them for their support. The food is sort of free this year. What I mean is that we are asking people to donate what they can for Operation Smile, this years charity that we are fund raising for. Remember the bring a towel and a swim suit to Lucky's. If all goes well we will have a shuttle bus to get you there. More on this soon.
 
Tony Alonzo (I sure hope I spelled that right) from yoyocommunity.com will be DJing there. It's going to be a great time.
